Convenience Essential to Business Banking

Posted online

Making banking convenient is top priority at BluCurrent. Through its video chat service, members can bank from the convenience of home. BluCurrent’s video chat allows current and potential members to speak with a locally based team member and get an account set up immediately, using digital documents and electronic signatures. It also creates convenience for existing customers who need assistance.

“One of the most important things about the video chat is that you’re still talking face-to-face with another person,” says Kyle Short, director of business services. “It still allows for that personal connection while being incredibly convenient.”

The video chat has been up and running for nearly 8 years in branch and just recently became available through mobile and desktop devices. The service allows busy people to skip waiting in lines or other time-consuming aspects of visiting branches.

“I really enjoy working with business owners to find convenient solutions to meet their financial needs and I’m proud to work on a team that focuses on financial education rather than forcing sales,” says Short. “It’s exciting to help the local community understand that banking and investing locally will benefit their business.” Short stresses that there’s no one size fits all plan, and services are customized to fit the needs of each particular business.

BluCurrent members are appreciative of that personalized care. “I’m a BluCurrent superfan because they really take care of their people,” says Cameron LaBarr, owner of LaBarr Properties and co-owner of Everett Homes. “I would highly recommend BluCurrent to a friend primarily because of the personal attention and the personal connection that each of its members receives. They take care of their customers to a great degree.”

Evann Dalton, co-owner of OP Hardwoods says, “The three words I use to describe BluCurrent are ‘right for us’. They take care of all of our business needs and answer all of our questions.”

“I truly love helping a business owner get their first bank account and watching them grow into an established business, knowing they’re saving money by coming to us,” says Short.

“Business owners are extremely busy,” says Short. “They really appreciate that we make things as convenient as possible. They don’t have to take the time to drive to a branch to sign one piece of paper.”

BluCurrent also offers excess share insurance for its business customers. While it is common for financial institutions to cover clients up to $250k through the FDIC or NCUA, this service covers members’ deposits up to $1 million.*

Founded in 1929, BluCurrent celebrated 91 years in business May 1, 2020. The Ozarks based credit union is member owned, meaning anyone who banks with BluCurrent is a shareholder. “We understand that businesses want to save money,” says Short. “If you’re paying attention to where your money is going, you don’t want to pay a ton of fees. Credit unions pride themselves on having low to no fee accounts and you’re a member, which allows you to have a say in how we run.”

“We really have a keen focus on our motto ‘building better lives together’,” says Short. “That commitment has been there since our inception but we’re always coming up with new ideas on how we can help make the Ozarks’ community a better place to live and how we can give back to our members with the products and services that we offer.”

*BluCurrent Business Accounts are insured up to $1,000,000 through a combination of federal insurance provided by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and private insurance from Excess Share Insurance Corporation (ESI).
