Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's enforcement head resigns

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s acting enforcement director has resigned from the agency.

In an email to colleagues cited by CNN, Cara Petersen reportedly said, "It is clear that the bureau’s current leadership has no intention to enforce the law in any meaningful way."

The CFPB, an early target of President Donald Trump's downsizing efforts, was formed through the Dodd-Frank Act in 2010.
