Posted online

The city of Springfield hired Danny Perches for a newly created role.

Perches, who currently serves as project manager for economic development at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to join the city on March 29 as development project facilitator, according to a news release.

“My experience assisting Springfield’s business community has given me a great appreciation for those in the development sector working to build our community from the ground up," he said in the release. "I look forward to working alongside new and experienced developers and city staff alike to improve the development process.”

As the city's development project facilitator, Perches will review the status of development projects by working directly with developers and designers to review and recommend processes. The position is an extension of City Manager Jason Gage's office.

It's a return to the city for Perches, who before joining the chamber was the municipality's workforce investment board liaison. He's been at the chamber for six years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Perches is slated to earn a base salary of $60,000 at the city, according to the release.

At the chamber, Perches works with local and statewide partners on expansion projects and the attraction of new companies to the market.

Chamber spokesperson Jennifer McClure said the organization plans to fill the role after evaluating its job description and duties.
