A chicken salad restaurant concept with ambitious expansion plans is coming to Springfield.
Atlanta-based Chicken Salad Chick is targeting two restaurants in the Queen City, according to a news release. The addresses of the planned restaurants were undisclosed.
“Growing our presence across the Midwest is an exciting chapter for our growth story as we break into untapped markets with new franchise partners,” said Scott Deviney, CEO of Chicken Salad Chick, in the release. “We have aggressive growth goals for the next five years, and plan to break into the tight-knit, community-centric cities across the Midwest where we know our concept withll thrive.”
Chicken Salad Chick, which recently opened its 200th store, has a development goal of 500 restaurants operating by the end of 2025. The company currently has two Missouri stores, in Chesterfield and Creve Coeur, and other franchises planned in Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Jefferson City and Kansas City.
The release pointed to a signed agreement in Springfield, though the franchisee was undisclosed and a spokesperson could not be reached for comment by deadline.
The company's franchise fee is $50,000, along with a $10,000 grand opening marketing fee for the first restaurant. Franchisees are expected to make an initial investment of up to $759,000 and pay 5% royalties, 2% national advertising fees and at least 1% local marketing fees, according to ChickenSaladChick.com.
The concept offers a variety of chicken salad dishes, including the Classic Carol with shredded chicken and mayonnaise; sandwiches; and soups and salads, according to its website.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
