The Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. is launching a new grant program to connect residents with the outdoors.

The Everyone Outdoors Grant Program has $66,000 available to support projects that connect Springfield and Greene County residents to natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities, according to a news release.

Organizations with 501(c)3 or similar nonprofit status can apply for up to $10,000 to engage residents with the outdoors. Officials say the funding will prioritize plans targeted to those living in low-income or high-density neighborhoods. Projects could include educational environmental programs, expansion of staff time for existing outdoor programs, new recreational equipment for public use, supplies to enhance neighborhood gathering spaces and other innovative ideas which support outdoor community placemaking, according to the release.

Nonprofit officials can find more information about the grant on CFO’s website. Applications must be submitted by Nov. 7.
