California law firm expands to Springfield

A California-based law firm with offices in multiple states has expanded to the Springfield market.

The hiring of attorney Alex Givens this month officially launched Gilson Daub Inc.'s presence in the Queen City, according to company officials.

"The Midwest is currently riding a wave of broad corporate expansion and we are happy to expand our team to meet this increased growth demand," said Brent Daub, Gilson Daub senior founding partner, in a news release.  

Gilson Daub's Springfield presence is considered an expansion of the company's Overland Park, Kansas, office, according to company officials.  

Givens most recently worked for six months as an associate attorney at Kansas City-based Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, according to his LinkedIn profile. He works from a home office in Springfield. 

Gilson Daub serves the insurance and business communities in workers’ compensation, subrogation recovery, and general and longshore liability cases, according to the release.

The company operates in California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Kansas and Missouri, according to its website.
