Charity Fent Cake Design LLC is targeting a spring opening in Brentwood Center North.
Owner Charity Fent said an April 1 launch is planned at the shopping center along Glenstone Avenue across from Battlefield Mall. Infill work is slated to be completed at the end of February or the first of March, she said.
For Charity Fent Cake Design, it's a move from 3534 E. Sunshine St., where the company currently operates by appointment only.
"The new location will allow clients to walk in and buy baked goods and some party supplies," Fent said. "We will continue to do custom cakes and wedding cakes like we always have, but will now offer ‘cash and carry’ cakes because of the huge demand on top of other desserts."
Founded in 2015 by Fent and her husband, Justin, Charity Fent Cake Design makes cakes for birthdays, weddings and other special events, according to its website.
Fent said the company is leasing 3,044 square feet between Olive & Ivy Boutique and The Brentwood Barbershop. She declined to disclose terms for the eight-year lease with Jared Enterprises or estimated infill costs.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
