Bryan Properties to break ground on Branson hotel

Posted online

After opening an Element by Westin in Springfield earlier this year, Bryan Properties is set to break ground on a project that would bring the Marriott hotel brand to Branson.

A June 28 groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled at 511 Pat Nash Drive, near Ballparks of America and White Water, say officials with Bryan Properties, which operates hotels via Bryan Hotels. The currently vacant site owned by Bryan Properties is about 5 miles from Silver Dollar City.

"Between Silver Dollar City being named the top theme park in America for the second consecutive year and with approximately 2 million visitors a year and Ballparks of America bringing in over 30,000 visitors a year ... Branson needs to continue to offer high-quality lodging to our visitors," said Emily Givens, director of development for Bryan Properties, via email. "Marriott International is the largest hotel chain in the world, and the Element by Westin is a great example of an extended-stay brand that individuals and families are looking for."

Osage Beach-based Thomas Construction is general contractor for the 123-room, 73,637-square-foot hotel designed by project architect H Design Group LLC, said Givens. The hotel is expected to open to guests in fall 2025, she said, declining to disclose the project cost.

Givens said Branson currently has two Marriott hotels – in addition to a Marriott Vacation Club – that were built in the 1990s.

Thomas Construction and H Design Group also worked on Bryan Properties' Element by Westin hotel in Springfield. Element Springfield South, located at 1100 E. Battlefield Road, opened in January, according to past reporting.

Marriott International Inc.'s (Nasdaq: MAR) Element by Westin concept has extended- and long-term stay options, according to its website. Designed as a boutique concept, the website indicates rooms include kitchens. Other Missouri hotels under the Element brand are in the Kansas City and St. Louis markets.
