Branson Airport names new leadership

Two longtime Branson Airport employees were promoted this month to new executive roles at the Hollister-based facility.

Stan Field was named as only the second executive director of the airport in its nearly 15-year history, while Jesse Fosnaugh was selected as deputy director, according to a news release.

Field, a Branson resident since 1990, had served as the airport’s chief financial officer since 2010.

“I am excited to take on this new role to work with Frontier Airlines and other airlines as we expand flights at Branson Airport,” Field said in the release. “With Jesse’s promotion to deputy director, combined with support from our community leaders, we have a strong team in place that will continue growing the airport into what the Branson area needs and deserves.”

In his new role, Field succeeds Jeffrey Bourk, who had been executive director of the airport since 2007, two years before it opened to passengers, according to Springfield Business Journal archives. Bourk accepted a position last month as airport director of Wilmington International Airport in North Carolina and is scheduled to start Jan. 3.

Fosnaugh, an employee of Branson Airport since 2008, most recently served as its director of operations and maintenance, according to the release. He is an accredited member of Alexandria, Virginia-based American Association of Airport Executives, a commercial organization that represents management personnel at public-use and general aviation airports.

“I am very pleased that Stan and Jesse will be leading the Branson Airport team into the future,” CEO Steve Peet said in the release. “Having worked alongside them both for over the past decade, I have every confidence in their leadership and vision for what’s next.”

Field declined an SBJ interview request. Branson Airport spokesperson Ty Lewis said other airport officials had no additional comment beyond the release.

Denver-based Frontier Airlines resumed commercial air service at Branson Airport in 2018, after a four-year absence. Branson Airport’s website indicates Frontier currently is the only airline offering flights at the facility. The private airport relied largely on charter flights after Frontier and Dallas-based Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) left in 2014, according to SBJ archives. It also has faced years of financial losses, along with bond repayment issues, according to past reporting.

According to Branson Airport’s website, it has served more than 1 million passengers since 2009 and delivered millions of dollars in economic impact to the community.
