As O'Reilly Hospitality Management LLC's multimillion-dollar BigShots Golf development prepares to tee up for play this year, the attraction is in hiring mode.
The Springfield franchisee of Peoria, Illinois-based BigShots Golf LLC is partnering with the Missouri Job Center on a hiring event scheduled March 26, according to a news release. The all-day event is slated to take place at the Job Center's main Springfield office, 2900 E. Sunshine St.
The available positions include food service, hospitality, caddies and golf maintenance personnel.
Kerrie Van Sickle, regional director of sales and public relations for O'Reilly Hospitality Management, said BigShots Golf is scheduled to open in late May.
The 1930 E. Kearney St. golf development is designed with 56 driving bays, 3,500 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor putting green, a full restaurant and bar, an activity center for kids and a golf instructional academy. A city building permit estimated the project cost at $6.5 million, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Snyder Construction Group LLC is the general contractor for the project designed by Peoria-based Demonica Kemper Architects LLC, according to past reporting.
O'Reilly Hospitality in September announced the hiring of Brian Inman as general manager of the attraction. He previously led the company’s DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, which is located diagonal to the BigShots Golf site.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
