Ozark-based restaurant chain Big Whiskey's is adding an eatery in Kentucky.
Franchisees Lisa and Alan Lawrence are planning to open a restaurant in Owensboro, according to a news release.
"We were looking for the right franchises, and then we came across Big Whiskey’s, and right away, it struck us – this is Kentucky," the Lawrences said in a joint statement provided in the release.
A final location for the Owensboro restaurant is in negotiation, officials say.
"We are so happy to guide them along this journey and see how we can be a part of Owensboro," Big Whiskey’s co-owner Paul Sundy said in the release.
Big Whiskey’s currently has nine stores in construction for a total of 28 locations in the South and Midwest, according to the release. Negotiations are underway for more stores, including locations in the St. Louis area.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans for a restaurant apiece in Lebanon and Neosho.
While a disruption in international trade has the capacity to hurt local farmers and ranchers, beef producers are having a good go of things at the moment.
