Former Vice President Joe Biden won the Missouri primary election in his quest to clinch the Democratic nomination, while President Donald Trump easily gained the Republican vote on Tuesday.

Biden and Trump also won on the Greene County ballot for their respective parties’ bids, according to unofficial election results posted by the Greene County clerk and Missouri secretary of state.

Democratic field
On the Democratic ballot, Biden took 60.1% of the vote, representing more than 396,000 people who selected him statewide.

His closest competitor, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, earned 34.6%, or roughly 228,000 votes, according to the Missouri secretary of state’s unofficial results tally.

Michael Bloomberg and Elizabeth Warren, who previously dropped out of the race, were the only two other candidates to gather more than 1% of the Democratic vote in Missouri. Neither gained more than 2%. Tulsi Gabbard, a U.S. representative from Hawaii who’s the only other Democrat who’s still in the race, brought in less than 1%, or roughly 4,800 votes cast yesterday in Missouri.

In Greene County, Biden gathered 51.6%, or 15,046, of the vote count. Sanders was No. 2 with 44.3%, or 13,059 votes, according to the Greene County unofficial election results.

Out of the six states that went to the polls yesterday — including Michigan, Mississippi, North Dakota, Idaho and Washington — Biden won at least four, according to The New York Times. The Washington contest has yet to be called, and Sanders took North Dakota. With 125 delegates, Michigan had the most up for grabs among states voting yesterday. Missouri has 68.

Republican tally
Trump was less contested on the Republican ballot, as he won with nearly 97% of the vote in Missouri, according to the secretary of state’s office.

Trump tallied nearly 300,000 votes statewide. His closest competitor, former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, got just 2,147 votes in Missouri, representing less than 1% of the total.

Similarly, in Greene County, Trump took 96.7% of the vote from 15,545 ballots. Weld also was second locally, with 135 votes, or less than 1%.

Trump scored wins in all six states that went to the ballot yesterday, according to USA Today.
