BBB hires new local leader

Pamela Hernandez now leads the Better Business Bureau's local operations.

The Better Business Bureau has a new local leader in place.

Pamela Hernandez is the new regional director for the organization, according to a news release. She started this month working out of the Springfield office, according to her LinkedIn profile.

"I love helping people, and my new role with BBB will allow me to assist consumers and businesses throughout the region," Hernandez said in the release. "I’m eager to work with BBB Springfield Advisory Board, promote BBB’s standards of trust and help educate consumers and businesses about the latest scams and other issues trending in the region."

Hernandez succeeds Stephanie Staggs, who left the BBB after five years to join AGFinancial as director of communications and marketing in August, according to past reporting.

Hernandez most recently worked in retail development as a branch manager for Volt Credit Union for eight months, according to her LinkedIn profile. Before that, she served as medical fitness director for Sharlin Health and Neurology in Ozark for nearly two years, and she owned Thrive Personal Fitness LLC 2009-2020.

At the BBB, she's responsible for a territory that covers Greene and 23 other counties in Missouri, according to the release. The BBB serves as a consumer watchdog nonprofit. Business profiles show ratings based off consumer reviews, and the BBB also issues cautionary statements about some companies when consumers report substandard business practices.
