Springfield-based Bass Pro Shops is expanding its footprint with three new stores.

The outdoor retailer on Tuesday announced plans for locations in Spring, Texas; Clifton Park, New York; and Niles, Ohio, according to a trio of news releases.

The 125,000-square-foot Outdoor World store in Texas would become Bass Pro's 16th location in the state. It's scheduled to open in fall 2024 in suburban Houston.

"Our newest Bass Pro Shops in Spring strengthens our relationship with sportsmen and women across the great state of Texas. For more than 50 years, (we’ve) been committed to conservation and to helping families spend time together outdoors," said Johnny Morris, company founder, in a news release. "This location not only showcases that commitment, but outfits hunters, anglers and families for all of the great fishing, hunting and outdoor activities that east Texas has to offer."

In New York, Bass Pro is adding a 70,000-square-foot Outpost store. An opening is expected in 2024 outside of Albany, the capital city. It would be the company’s fourth store in the state.

The Ohio store opening is planned in the second half of 2023 in Niles, which is around 60 miles southeast of Cleveland. The Outpost store is designed to span 63,000 square feet, according to a news release. Bass Pro’s addition would bring its store count in Ohio to seven.

The company has 160 stores in the United States and Canada under the Bass Pro and Cabela's brand names, according to its website.
