Springfield-based Bass Pro Shops has plans in the works for its second Mississippi store.
The company is targeting an early 2027 opening date for the new store in Jackson County, Mississippi, according to a news release. The 75,000-square-foot store would serve the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area in the Lemoyne Landing development near the intersection of interstates 10 and 110 in southern Mississippi.
“Mississippi is proud to welcome Bass Pro Shops to the Lemoyne Landing development, a project that exemplifies the best of what our state has to offer – strong partnerships, a thriving economy and a deep appreciation for the outdoors," Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in the release. "Bass Pro Shops’ decision to invest in Jackson County speaks volumes about the region’s potential as a hub for economic opportunity and tourism."
The store is expected to employ more than 125 people.
Bass Pro's other Mississippi store is in Pearl, near Jackson. The company's website lists 175 Bass Pro and Cabela's stores in the United States and Canada.
