Bass Pro Shops is adding a health care center for employees and their dependents to its corporate campus on East Kearney Street.
The facility, dubbed the Family Health Center, is slated to open this fall, according to a news release.
“We are excited to deliver the best and most convenient health care available to our Ozarks-area outfitters and their families,” Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris said in the release. “We hope that the facility will provide benefit and peace of mind for our people and their families for many years to come.”
Bass Pro ranked No. 3 on Springfield Business Journal's 2021 list of the area's largest employers. The company reported 6,000 local employees and 40,000 companywide.
At the Family Health Center, Bass Pro is partnering with Brentwood, Tennessee-based health care provider Premise Health to offer primary care, preventive wellness and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, according to the release.
Bass Pro is renovating a former Greyhound bus station across the street from its corporate headquarters' entrance. Greene County recorder's office data show Bass Pro took over ownership of the property in July 2021. However, a note amount is not listed.
The Greyhound station moved last year to the 4900 block of West Chestnut Expressway, according to past reporting.
The Bass Pro release did not disclose financial details of the project or provide the general contractor and architect. A spokesperson could not be reached for comment by deadline.
The Kebab Shack opened; Hitch Goods launched; and The War Zone Springfield moved.
