A nearly $1 million economic impact is projected for an archery competition coming to Springfield next year.
USA Archery’s 2025 U.S. Open & Target Nationals is scheduled Aug. 13-16, 2025, at Betty & Bobby Allison Sports Town, according to a news release from Visit Springfield, Missouri, and the Springfield Sports Commission.
“USA Archery is extremely excited to partner with Allison Sports Town and the Springfield Sports Commission to bring this amazing event to a community that is already archery-obsessed,” said Jenni Bailey Edmunds, events coordinator for USA Archery, in the release. “Due to the significance of this tournament, participation continues to increase each year, and we don’t see that stopping with Springfield.”
Local tourism officials are projecting a more than $958,000 economic impact from the event. Event organizers are expecting 500-600 competitors.
The archery competition is slated to follow the January Springfield Futsal Shootout, also announced this week. The latter tournament has a projected economic impact of $890,000, according to past reporting.
