Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has dropped a new anesthesia plan after introducing it last month.
The company previously announced it would not pay for anesthesia care if a surgery goes beyond a specific time limit, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield officials cited "widespread misinformation” about how the change would work in dropping the new policy. The proposed policy change drew widespread backlash.
