7-Eleven's parent company rejects takeover bid

The parent company of 7-Eleven has rejected a takeover bid.

Seven & i Holdings officials said the offer from Canadian convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard "is not in the best interest" of its shareholders.

The offer was reportedly valued at $38.55 billion.
