7 Brew targets September opening for store near mall

A new 7 Brew Coffee shop is scheduled to open this fall near Battlefield Mall.

Brandon Sebald, co-owner of franchisee Brew Crew LLC, said the store at 1521 E. Battlefield Road is expected to debut in mid-September. The location is in the parking lot of Gabe's, adjacent to Great Southern Bank.

Site work is currently underway, with the 510-square-foot building slated to be installed Aug. 7, he said.

"We are able to get great feedback from our raving fan customers on where to add locations, and this was an underserved area that will help us better serve the community and our guests," Sebald said via email.

Sebald said the project cost is more than $1 million.

The East Battlefield store will be Brew Crew's seventh in Springfield, Sebald said. He noted the franchisee has plans for one to two more stores in Springfield in the coming years, and locations are scheduled to open in Ozark and Republic in the next 12 to 18 months.

Sebald previously told Springfield Business Journal that the prefabricated buildings used in 7 Brew locations are installed in a process that's called "dropping the building."

The franchisee's most recent 7 Brew in Springfield opened in April at 404 E. Sunshine St., according to past reporting.
