$2M Stone County fire station nears completion

A $2 million fire station for the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District is nearly complete.

Branco Enterprises Inc. is wrapping up construction of the Branson West fire protection district's 14,350-square-foot station at 14743 Business Highway 13, according to a news release. H Design Group LLC served as project architect.

Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Chief Keith Wolven said via email a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house scheduled May 10 also would serve as the opening date for the fire station.

“This new fire station project is the culmination of years of extensive planning beforehand and extensive planning for the growing future of our area," Wolven said in the release of the facility that will cover the Kimberling City area.

He noted, as well, that the fire protection district is hiring six people to staff the new station.
