The Greene County Commission this week approved American Rescue Plan Act funding for 29 small businesses.
The businesses are set to receive awards totaling $307,169 for the funding round approved by the commission on July 16, according to a news release.
“Small businesses and their employees are vital to our local economy and way of life and have been a top priority of the commission,” Commissioner John Russell said in the release. “They provide good jobs, services and products to our community, and a sense of connection that only comes from small businesses."
The largest award, going to A Valeria Boss Salon, is for $20,250.

The release indicates the funding awarded this week is the final funding announcement for Greene County's small-business ARPA program, with $6.6 million awarded to 455 companies. The $56.9 million in ARPA funds the county received to distribute must be allocated by year's end.
