Double Take
A hole in a hotel? There’s something you don’t see every day. Work continues on University Plaza Hotel’s $4 million, multiphase renovation project started in 2013. Workers began replacing glass windowpanes on the downtown hotel last winter and will wrap this fall, hotel officials say. The property already has a renovated lobby, a new coffee shop and completed roof work. Guest room renovations are slated to begin soon.

The American Heart Association honored Citizens Memorial Healthcare’s dedication to cardiac care quality with two awards. The gold and bronze honors are given for demonstrating excellent patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months and implementing specific quality improvement measures for heart attack patients.
