Spotify hit with $1.6B copyright lawsuit

Wixen Music Publishing filed suit against music streaming company Spotify, Reuters reports.

Wixen claims Spotify used thousands of its songs without a license and without compensating the publisher.

Wixen, an exclusive licensee of songs such as "Free Fallin" by Tom Petty and "Light My Fire" by the Doors, is seeking at least $1.6 billion and injunctive relief.
