Report: Boy Scouts of America considers bankruptcy filing

The Boy Scouts of America is considering filing for bankruptcy, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.

The sources cited declining membership and rising legal costs over lawsuits related to how the organization handled sex abuse allegations.

The youth organization reportedly hired law firm Sidley Austin LLP to assist in the possible bankruptcy filing.
