The Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee approved certificates of need for $54.2 million worth of senior living communities planned by Springfield-based O’Reilly Development Co. LLC.

The approvals give the green light to a $30.8 million project in Wentzville and a a $23.4 million center in Joplin, according to a news release.

In the St. Louis suburb of Wentzville, O’Reilly Development plans to build 80 units for independent living, 40 units for assisted living and 16 units for memory care. On 10 acres owned by O’Reilly Development, the company is expected to launch construction on the community comprising 139,588 square feet late this year with completion scheduled in early 2018, according to the release.

Construction already is underway on a $35.8 million senior living facility O’Reilly Development is building in St. Charles. That project is slated to wrap up in mid-2017.

“The O’Reilly senior living communities under development in St. Charles and now Wentzville were both well received with unconditional support and confirmation of the awareness of the unmet demand for senior living services as defined in our market analysis and (the state’s certificate of need program’s) published inventory,” O’Reilly Development partner Patrick O’Reilly said in the release.

In Joplin, O’Reilly Development plans to start construction late this year on a center with 80 independent living units, 50 assisted living units and 16 memory care units. The project should wrap up by early 2018.

The 130,500-square-foot development will be built on 19 acres of vacant land O’Reilly Development owns in Joplin’s Wildwood Ranch community, according to the release.

“Benefiting the region’s employment, approximately 65 new jobs will be created, including highly skilled and licensed staff,” said Denise Heintz, an O’Reilly Development partner and director of operations and development, in the release.

O’Reilly Development also is developing an $18.4 million Nixa senior living community in The Villages At Wicklow. The certificates of need for that project and the one in St. Charles were approved in September.
