Southwest Missouri Realty
Southwest Missouri Realty on Sept. 1 moved its main operations from Ozark to Springfield with the purchase of 2103 E. Sunshine St. SWMR & Associates LLC was formed in 2013 at 757 N. 20th St. in Ozark by four former Murney Associates agents – Frank Lorenz, Tonya Murfin-Hayes, Shannon Todd and Barry Dickemann – after the closure of their Murney office. The agency expanded its reach with a Springfield presence in Kickapoo Corners at 3608 S. Campbell Ave., Lorenz said. That office was replaced when Southwest Missouri Realty purchased the Sunshine building June 1 for undisclosed terms with financing from Bank of Bolivar. The property has a 2017 appraised value of $694,500, according to Greene County assessor records. The 6,400-square-foot building now serves as the company’s main office, with the Ozark office as a satellite location. The newly remodeled building has room for the agency’s three support staff and 43 independent agents.

Jesus Was Homeless
Bryan and Amy Stallings’ nonprofit Jesus Was Homeless opened a new thrift store Aug. 1 at 310 Gretna Road in Branson. Just north of the Titanic Museum, the resale shop sells upscale used clothing, furniture and household items and accepts tax-deductible, gently used items from the public during business hours, Bryan Stallings said. The Stallingses bought a long-vacant theater for undisclosed terms, he said, and plans to add a cafe this fall. The store is managed by Tina Wynne and staffed by five volunteers at a time. Money raised helps support Branson’s transient and working poor populations living mostly in area motels, he said, and it funds the approximately 1,400 free meals delivered each week. The 9-year-old, nondenominational nonprofit also provides assistance with the spiritual, physical and employment needs of those in poverty.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
Rogers, Arkansas-based 3Pointe Restaurant Group Holdings LLC opened another Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers franchise Aug. 22 at 2305 N. Glenstone Ave. The company brought the Wichita-based chain to Branson in 2010, followed by the first Springfield restaurant in 2012 and an Ozark store in 2017, as well as others in Arkansas and California, said franchise spokesperson Kim Huynh. The new 3,500-square-foot restaurant, on the site of a former Back Yard Burgers, seats 100 with additional seating on the patio. The Freddy’s franchise, which has 270 restaurants across the nation, typically charges franchise fees of $25,000 and royalties of 4.5 percent. 3Pointe Restaurant Group has spent $500,000-$1 million opening the other area stores. Jamie Rheem, a franchise partner in the restaurant group, said 3Pointe operates nine Freddy’s restaurants. He said 3Pointe also co-owns the local Pie Five Pizza Co. franchise stores.
