Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce Director Tammy Mast submitted her resignation Nov. 29, announcing she accepted a position as vice president of development at United Way of the Ozarks.
Mast said her final day at the chamber is Dec. 15, and she begins her new role Dec. 27.
Chamber board Chairman Kendal Dingus said the board plans to list the job opening today. The board hopes to hire a new director by mid-January.
“At our board meeting on Tuesday, we really hope to hash out a lot of the exact details,” he said.
One of those details will be to consider hiring an interim director, said Dingus, who works as assistant vice president at Central Bank of the Ozarks’ Nixa branch.
“We do have a very capable staff that’s there right now that are versed in day-to-day operations,” he said. “We are certainly going to miss (Mast). She’s been with us for nearly two years, and she’s done a lot of good things. But we are excited for her to move on to the next chapter.”
Mast was hired as chamber director in Februrary 2016, succeeding Marc Truby – who suddenly resigned after three years at the helm.
Prior to her role at the chamber, Mast served as community relations director for nonprofit dental clinic Children’s Smile Center.
