New members proposed for chamber board

Posted online

The directors nominating committee of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce made seven recommendations for the organization’s board of directors.

Chamber members have until noon on Oct. 12 to submit additional nominees by way of petitions with at least 25 signatures from other members in good standing. If no other directors are nominated, the committee’s picks will be elected to the board, according to the release.

All seven of the committee’s selections last year were elected.

The new nominees are:
    •    Christina Angle, chief financial officer for Erlen Group/Springfield Underground Inc.;
    •    Tim Baltes, associate vice chancellor for human resources and workforce development for Ozarks Technical Community College;
    •    Gary Gibson, associate general manager of customer operations and communications for City Utilities of Springfield;
    •    Nikki Holden, managing partner for Custom Metalcraft Inc.;
    •    Brent Hubbard, chief operating officer for Mercy Hospital Springfield;
    •    John Oke-Thomas, owner of Oke-Thomas + Associates Inc.; and
    •    Dan Reiter, vice president and general manager for Springfield Cardinals LLC.

Angle and Oke-Thomas, if approved, would be returning board members. SpringfieldChamber.com lists 22 board members and eight executive committee directors.

The new and returning members would serve three-year terms starting in January 2019, according to the release.
