New airline to launch service at Branson Airport

Posted online
Maitland, Florida-based Via Airlines will offer five flights at Branson Airport starting in May.

The company’s 50-seat Embraer regional jets will send passengers from Branson to Dallas, Houston and Austin in Texas, as well as Denver, Colorado, and Chicago, according to a news release.

One-way flights to the destinations are scheduled to run May 25-Sept. 4. They’re now priced promotionally at $99 to $149.

It’s unclear whether the flights will continue on a seasonal basis beyond 2017.

“The only information we have at this time is the flights are available from May 25 to Sept. 5,” airport spokesman Ty Lewis said via email.

Last year, Branson Airport signed a partnership with Elite Airways and Great Lakes Airlines to give customers year-round daily flights to Denver and Houston, Texas. That followed news Buzz Airways was renewing its service in Branson.
