MSU College of Business dean accepts new job

Missouri State University College of Business Dean Stephanie Bryant is leaving the school for another job.

She’ll step down after more than six years at the end of the fall semester to join the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business as executive vice president and chief accreditation officer. She starts her new position on Jan. 2 with the Tampa, Florida-based accrediting organization for business colleges, according to a news release.

“As a business school dean, AACSB board member and dedicated AACSB volunteer for many years, she is well qualified to advance AACSB’s strategic vision as we continue to grow accreditation globally, support the needs of business schools and business, and expand our portfolio of quality improvement products and services,” AACSB President and CEO Thomas Robinson said in the release.

MSU spokeswoman Andrea Mostyn said the university will conduct an internal search this fall for an interim dean who would serve 18 months. In the latter half of 2018, the school will start a national search for a permanent successor.

For Bryant, the new job represents a return to Florida. She started as the MSU COB dean in August 2011 after leaving her post as director of the School of Accountancy at the University of South Florida, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

While at MSU, Bryant has led an enrollment increase of more than 890 students to a total of roughly 5,500. She’s also been instrumental in the $33.8 million renovation and expansion of Glass Hall, the home of the MSU COB, according to a separate news release.
