Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri, this week indicated the Trump administration's aluminum tariffs may harm Bass Pro Shops' boat business.
In a letter to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, McCaskill said the business, White River Marine Group, is among Missouri companies under fire by the U.S. trade war with other countries.
"The combination of the aluminum tariffs and the retaliation from the largest foreign customers for American-made recreational boats will undoubtedly result in job losses to this industry," McCaskill wrote in the letter.
