London's HSBC appoints new CEO

London-based bank HSBC appointed John Flint as its new CEO.

Flint will take over on Feb. 21 for the retiring Stuart Gulliver. Flint currently leads the company's retail banking and wealth management services.

Chairman Mark Tucker said Flint has "great understanding and regard for HSBC's heritage, and the passion to build the bank for the next generation."
