Hong Kong’s $11B speed rail to China opens

Hong Kong’s $11 billion high-speed rail to China is scheduled to open for service Sept. 23.

More than eight years in the making, the rail line travels between Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

During construction, the line was mired in controversies, including infrastructure concerns and fears of causing a nearby mall and residential complex to sink.
