Google opening an AI center in China

Google selected Beijing, China, as the first spot for its artificial intelligence research center in Asia.

The science of AI has no borders - neither do its benefits," said Fei-Fei Li, chief scientist at Google's AI business, in a blog post.

The decision comes despite the fact that Google's search engine, YouTube and Gmail are blocked by China's so-called Great Firewall.
