Springfield-based online booking platform GigSalad ranked 15th on Entrepreneur magazine’s list of the 360 best U.S. entrepreneurial companies.
At Entrepreneur.com, the magazine ranked independently owned companies based on innovation, growth, leadership and impact. The list doesn’t detail the individual metrics for each company. It calls the 27-employee GigSalad “the largest and most diverse marketplace for entertainment and event services.”
GigSalad’s placement on the Entrepreneur list follows its rank of No. 1,738 on this year’s annual Inc. 5000 list. GigSalad reported 2016 revenue of $5.1 million, representing three-year growth of 224.3 percent.
Entrepreneur also ranked Springfield-based DotCom Therapy LLC No. 332 on its list. The magazine’s website states the 27-employee company founded by Rachel Robinson and Emily Purdom “answers the pervasive speech therapist shortage by delivering customized treatment services anytime, anywhere via live videoconferencing.”
In 2015, Purdom — then Emily Jones — told Springfield Business Journal the company formed out of a need arising from a lack of therapists in the area.
“Access is our primary goal, but also convenience. It’s hard with a person who has limited mobility to get into a clinic,” she said at the time.
Topping Entrepreneur’s list is San Francisco-based cloud-planning platform Anaplan, followed by Fort Collins, Colorado-based digital marketing provider Madwire and Santa Monica, California-based back office support firm TaskUs.
