GeoEngineers picks Springfield principal to lead new unit

Posted online

Seattle, Washington-based GeoEngineers Inc. chose Springfield principal Mark Miller to lead its new pipelines business unit.

Jon Robison, who’s also a principal in the Springfield office, and principal Trevor Hoyles of Raleigh, North Carolina, will assist Miller, according to a news release.

The firm’s pipelines business unit focuses on trenchless technology — referring to subsurface construction work requiring few or no continuous trenches — for oil and gas projects. GeoEngineers’ method helps companies route pipelines, perform hazard analyses and determine the feasibility of plans, among other services.

“The new unit will improve our ability to support clients and give them more consistent relationships and work products,” Miller said in the release issued this week.

Unlike other GeoEngineers units, the pipelines business is not required to be organized geographically. Because pipeline projects tend to be dispersed, staff are deployed to project sites countrywide.

“Our clients are everywhere and our projects are everywhere, so from a structural standpoint, this made sense,” Miller added in the release.

Founded in 1980, GeoEngineers operates 13 offices across the nation as far east as North Carolina. The Springfield office is the company’s sole location in Missouri, according to its website.
