Project description: On 4 acres along the South Creek Greenway Trail, development companies TLC Properties Inc. and Miller Commerce LLC are partnering to build 100 rental units. The bulk of the development is for 92 apartments, while separately eight townhomes are going up at the Jefferson Avenue entrance off Sunset Street, said Kyle Cook, project manager for Miller Commerce. The L-shaped apartment building is directly behind the Party City and PetSmart stores on South Campbell Avenue. TLC Properties Operations Vice President Dan Coryell said the project is financed by North Dakota-based Edgewood REIT, a real estate investment trust that earlier this year acquired Missouri Valley REIT Inc. in Springfield. According to TLCProperties.com, the apartments range from microstudios for $609 per month to three-bedroom penthouse units for $1,569 per month. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool with a hot tub and waterfall, in-water tanning deck, fire pit and dog park, according to the website.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
