Project description: Domino’s franchisees Art Hurteau and Marty Prather are building a four-unit strip center to house their first new store in the direct Springfield market in over 20 years. Brian Ranft, a project manager for the franchisees, said the latest is designed to meet Domino’s new “pizza theater” specifications with an open kitchen for customers to watch their orders being prepared. As an anchor to the center, he said the store would seat 29 and offer a pick-up window. Three other bays are listed with Chambers Real Estate Services LLC for $17-$19 per square foot. Organized under A&M Pizza Inc., Hurteau and Prather brought the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based concept to Springfield in 1981 and now also operate stores in Bolivar, Republic, Nixa, Ozark, Hollister, Branson and Harrison, Arkansas. Ranft said the franchisees also are remodeling and expanding stores at Sunshine Street and Oak Grove Avenue and their flagship on the corner of Cherry Street and National Avenue.
