Ford is dropping production of an electric vehicle at its Flat Rock, Michigan, plant in favor of an autonomous vehicle.
The company plans to build the new vehicle from the ground up with input from companies such as Lyft and Domino's.
The hybrid-electric vehicle is scheduled to be released in 2021, two years behind rival General Motor's planned autonomous vehicle.
