Evangel names business department chairman

Evangel University has named Bernie Dana as chairman of its Business Department. Dana assumed his new role March 1.

Dana succeeds Glenn Bernet, vice president of academic affairs, who has served as interim chairman since August.

Dana has been an Evangel faculty member since 2001 and is an associate professor of business at the university, according to a news release.

“Through his corporate experience, his academic achievements and his work at Evangel, Mr. Dana is uniquely qualified to give leadership to the department and to continue the initiatives in performance excellence and program accreditation,” Evangel President Robert Spence said in the release.

Prior to being employed at Evangel, Dana worked as an executive and a consultant in the long-term health care industry. He recently served four years as chairman of the American Health Care Association Board of Overseers, from which he resigned in December.

Dana has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Evangel and a master's degree in quality management from Loyola University - New Orleans.[[In-content Ad]]
