The Evangel University Board of Trustees selected Tim Hager as the new vice president and dean for Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
The selection of Hager makes him a member of the school system’s leadership cabinet under Evangel President Carol Taylor, according to a news release. AGTS and Central Bible College merged into Evangel in May 2013.
Hager, who’s worked the last two years as chief operating officer for the General Council of the Assemblies of God, is scheduled to start Jan. 1 with his new position in the Evangel system. He’ll succeed the retiring James Railey.
As dean, Hager will report to Executive Vice President and Provost Mike McCorcle on academic matters, and as vice president, he’ll report to Taylor on church, external relations and fundraising efforts.
“We believe that his expertise in managing organizational change and building strong relationships with our fellowship are now the perfect fit for our next AGTS leader,” McCorcle said in the release.
Evangel and AGTS have more than 2,100 students from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
