Dental practice to change names with new partner

Dorman Family Dental will take on the Ascend Dental Design name tomorrow with a new partner on board.

Dr. Jeffrey Dorman is partnering with Dr. Derek Magers, said Stephanie Grandestaff, practice administrator. Magers joined Dorman Family Dental two years ago after graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.

“When Dr. Dorman brought him on a couple of years ago, they had that in mind,” Grandestaff said, declining to disclose the doctors’ percentage ownership in the company or the investment amount to become a partner. “They knew they were a good fit for each other. They had similar values and beliefs.”

The dental practice employs 12, including three dental hygienists, and has operated under the Dorman Family Dental name since 1985, Grandestaff said.

“We wanted to find a new name that would express where we’re headed in the future,” she said. “At Ascend, we are continually improving ourselves and our team through training to be the best for our patients.”

A Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled 4 p.m. Aug. 20 at the 1200 E. Woodhurst Drive, Bldg. U, practice, followed by an open house.[[In-content Ad]]
