As one brewery opens, another has set in motion plans to launch next year.
Seven days before the official opening date of downtown’s Lost Signal Brewing Co., a Rountree startup called Tie & Timber Beer Co. posted its plans on
Facebook.

Two vacant buildings on East Cherry Street are being renovated for Tie & Timber’s operations, according to Greene County assessor records and the company’s
website.
At 1451 E. Cherry St., renderings on TieAndTimberBeerCo.com show plans to take over the Kokomo Tans building and an abandoned Ozarks Area Community Action Corp. Head Start property.
Both buildings were up for auction in a trustee’s sale after Guaranty Bank called the notes due on several properties owned by Harris Properties Inc.
An employee with the assessor’s office said Guaranty Bank took over the Cherry Street buildings in December. Attempts to reach Tie & Timber owners were unsuccessful by deadline.
Named after Missouri’s timber industry served by the railroad in the early 20th century, Tie & Timber bills itself as a “neighborhood brewery and taproom.”

Yesterday was the grand opening for Springfield’s fourth brewery after a weekend soft launch.
Lost Signal Brewing opened at 610 W. College St., the former longtime home of the KICK radio station.
Construction crews gutted and renovated the 4,000-square-foot space for roughly $150,000, according to city building permits. Owner Tyler Hoke leases the building for an indefinite term from his father Jack Hoke, who bought the building in March.

had been scheduled to open in October but was held back due to permitting and construction delays.
Lost Signal serves barbecue from its kitchen and seats roughly 80 indoor and another 40 on an outdoor patio. Tyler Hoke said beers on tap, priced $4-$5 for 16 ounces, include an American pale ale, smoked pecan porter and an English variety.
Lost Signal joins other Springfield breweries Mother’s Brewing Co., Springfield Brewing Co. and White River Brewing Co.
