Branson’s synthetic snow mountain to open ahead of winter

Combs Family Ventures LLC’s 300-foot-long synthetic snow tubing hill is scheduled to open before winter’s official start date.

The company is launching the attraction installed by United Kingdom-based Briton Engineering Developments Ltd. on Dec. 1, according to a news release. The first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere is Dec. 21.

Located at Combs Family Ventures’ Branson Zipline at Wolfe Mountain north of Branson in Walnut Shade, the attraction features the Snowflex sports surface concept designed to mimic a real snow hill. The synthetic white-colored hill has been in the works since this spring and will be open year-round.

“We have been working hard to make our vision a reality and are counting down the days until Dec. 1,” said Craig Combs, owner of Branson Zipline at Wolfe Mountain, in the release.

The synthetic Snowflex terrain is said to be the same type of surface used by U.S. Winter Olympic Games athletes for training, according to the release.

The Snowflex tubing hill joins eight zip lines, 10 suspension bridges and free-fall simulators at Branson Zipline. A Phase II snow sports is planned within the next two years.
