Springfield-based public accounting firms BKD LLP and KPM CPAs PC placed on Inside Public Accounting’s list of the top U.S. firms.
On the report released today, BKD maintained its No. 12 ranking based on net revenue of $594.6 million. The figure, which includes revenue from mergers, is up 4.1 percent from a year earlier, according to the report.
BKD had held a spot on the top 10 for 12 years until 2013, when the company was bumped from No. 10 to No. 12. It peaked at No. 7 in 2001, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
On this year’s list, KPM ranked 228th, which was down from its No. 217 placement last year and No. 204 ranking in 2016, according to past SBJ reporting.
KPM recorded net revenue of $15.7 million, roughly flat from a year earlier.
The top five firms on the list all maintained their ranks. By revenue, they are:
• New York-based Deloitte LLP, $18.6 billion;
• New York-based PricewaterhouseCoopers, $16 billion;
• New York-based EY, $13 billion;
• New York-based KPMG LLP, $9 billion; and
• Chicago-based RSM US LLP, $2.1 billion.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
