Big Whiskey’s to land on Las Vegas Strip

A Big Whiskey’s franchisee secured a spot far south on the Las Vegas Strip for its first planned restaurant in the market.

Henderson, Nevada-based Calant Capital LLC, led by owner Anthony DePasquale, signed a two-store deal in June. The first is scheduled to open in summer 2018 at the Town Square Las Vegas open-air shopping and entertainment center at 6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd. The attraction is about a mile away from the famed “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, according to a news release.

“Tony being able to secure this incredible location has really made this a surreal moment for our company,” Big Whiskey’s Franchising President Austin Herschend said in the release.

He said the deal with Calant Capital, as well as last month’s signing of a two-store agreement for Birmingham, Alabama, positions the Springfield chain well for the fourth quarter and 2018.

“Vegas and Alabama offer amazing potential for our brand and we have other great markets on the horizon,” Herschend said in the release.

Big Whiskey’s first franchise location opened in March in Bentonville, Arkansas, followed in May by a restaurant in Lee’s Summit. The company in August opened its sixth corporate restaurant in Republic.

Franchisees pay an initial investment of up to $998,000 for a single restaurant. The operators also pay annual royalties of 5 percent of gross revenue, spend at least 2 percent of gross revenue on local marketing and contribute up to 1 percent of gross revenue into a marketing fund, which serves all locations, according to BigWhiskeysFranchise.com.
