Bass Pro offering buyouts to employees at former Cabela's HQ

Posted online

Bass Pro Shops is offering buyouts to employees at Cabela's former headquarters in Sidney, Nebraska.

A letter sent to employees - and obtained by the Omaha World-Herald - says employees at the former headquarters have until March 1 to accept an offer to leave and receive bonuses of up to $40,000.

“These voluntary programs, which will expire March 1, 2018, are above and beyond what outfitters will receive in future severance programs,” the letter said, referring to Cabela’s employees.

A Bass Pro spokesman confirmed the buyouts at the former headquarters but declined to say how many employees are affected.

The letter signed by Bass Pro President Jim Hagale said Johnny Morris committed to contribute $10 million to the severage fund despite receiving a “minimal positive response" when he called for matching funds in January.
