Apple pledges two new R&D centers in China

Apple Inc. plans to launch two new research and development centers in China.

The centers in Shanghai and Suzhou would bring Apple's commitment to R&D plants in China to $500 million.

The company currently operates a center in Beijing and has plans for another in Shenzhen.
