The Springfield Symphony Orchestra sold $99,263 in single tickets during the 2016-17 season, a 19 percent increase from $83,564 a year earlier.

The nonprofit orchestra’s 3,705 single tickets, a 12 percent increase from 3,318 tickets in the 2015-16 season, according to data provided by Marketing Manager Jeana Varney. It’s the fourth-straight year the organization has posted a record in the category.

“We are fortunate to be able to continue to grow artistically and the fact that every year for the last four years we've smashed our previous single ticket sales just confirms that our audiences are growing along with us,” said Kyle Wiley Pickett, music director and conductor for the Springfield Symphony, in a news release.

The organization reported total attendance — single tickets plus season tickets — of 11,168 during its 82nd season, a 5 percent bump from 10,629 in 2015-16.

The Springfield Symphony’s 2017-18 season, dubbed Revolution, starts Sept. 16, and will include Salute to Veterans and African-American Heritage concerts. The 2016-17 season featured nine concerts and was called Extreme Symphony, according to the release.
